<die digitale dusseldorf> will take place in 2019 for the fourth time. the festival will present the latest developments and trends in the digitization of art, design and music in concerts, exhibitions, performances and lectures. this year we will focus on „digital overload“.
digitization is the current breeding ground for an incredible abundance of information. the universal disposition over information relativize the significance of art in the cultural picture as a whole. art is losing its status as a communication of the exceptional, because the extraordinary is becoming less visible in the digital information storm. so - nolens volens - art itself is a part of this flood as an aesthetic form of communication. how do artists comment the information overload? are there any aesthetic strategies to escape the flood? what about hacking arts using overload or overflow processes to attack it structures? exciting questions. we are looking forward for answers of digital artists at the festival for digital art and music < die digitale dusseldorf >.
